Like I said not attacking or defending Obama just wondering since that was such a big campain issue and the Major complant with Bush.......

This thread just got me thinking about it alittle more

That's a BIG promise that he had to keep really. He'll keep most I believe, hopefully. Some will probably come in his second term, most know he's not a miracle worker despite what others continue to claim we think. Still needs to work on alternative energy, that's always a top priority...unless you're Reagan.

This thread got me thinking.....Obama said he would be drawing down forces in Iraq at the rait of 1 batallion a month starting as soon as he entered office.....Two questions....1) has he followed through with that promise and 2) how has it affected the violence level in Iraq (The Media really cut there coverave of Iraq once the economey tanked)

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi military has turned down several requests from American forces to move unescorted through Baghdad and conduct a raid since it took over responsibility for urban security at the end of last month, an Iraqi military commander said Monday.
U.S. combat troops withdrew from urban areas on June 30 under a security agreement with Iraq that requires all U.S. troops to be out of the country by the end of 2011.
Col.
